Can I enter with a shoppers passes during the Heritage Harvest Weekend?
No, shoppers passes are not available during the Heritage Harvest Weekend. Please purchase a ticket to explore everything on offer during the weekend.
Is entry to Sovereign Hill included in Heritage Harvest Weekend Workshops?
Yes, workshops include complimentary Sovereign Hill entry from 10am.

Is the Gold Museum open?

What is different due to COVID-19?
In accordance with the State Government's recent easing of COVID-19 restrictions, visitors will no longer need to show proof of vaccination. While wearing a facemask will not be mandatory, we recommend wearing one in areas of the museum where maintaining a 1.5 metre physical distance is not possible (ie mine tours). How do I buy an annual pass?
Annual Passes can be purchased at the front entrance on days we are open or via [email protected]
Why can’t I pre-book premium activities online?
Additional premium activities including costumed photography, mine tours, candle-dipping and coach rides are subject to limited availability. Therefore, they need to be booked and paid for at the relevant location on the day. This helps to ensure availability and allows our staff to provide visitors with appropriate information around timing, safety and other important details for your experience.
What additional activities do I need to pay for?
Your Sovereign Hill admission includes all classic experiences such as panning for gold, theatre performances, street shows, live demonstrations, exploring our shops and cottages, bowling, self-guided tours of the Red Hill Mine, the Gold Pour and additional special seasonal activities. Additional premium activities can be purchased during your visit. These include costumed photography, mine tours, candle-dipping and coach rides which are subject to limited availability and should be booked and paid for at the relevant location on the day. Pre-booking these experiences online is not available at the moment.
How do I make a booking using a valid Companion Card?
  1. Please purchase the number of tickets you are paying for online via our website.
  2. Once you finalise the booking, you will receive a confirmation email with your booking confirmation included. Please forward this email to the Sovereign Hill Bookings Team ([email protected]) with the number of companion card tickets you require. Your updated booking confirmation will then be sent back to you with the Companion Card tickets now included free of charge.
  3. Please present this updated booking confirmation, either digitally on your phone or printed out, to the staff on arrival. You will need to bring the valid Companion Card with you upon your arrival.
Can I book at ticket with a Companion Card?
Companion Card holders can attend Sovereign Hill at a concession rate. One adult guest can accompany the card holder free of charge. Please see below how to arrange your adult guests free ticket. *Australian cards only. Cards must be presented. One free adult guest per Companion Card.
Does my ticket still provide two days of entry?
Sovereign Hill admission is now a one-day ticket only with a reduced price of $39 per adult ticket, $20 for children's tickets and $99 for a family of four, five or six. If you intend to visit multiple times, we recommend purchasing an Annual Pass for best value.
Do I have to pre-book activities?

Do Annual Pass holders need to book?
Annual Pass holders can attend Sovereign Hill at any time. Like all guests, we recommend Annual Pass holders pre-book online.
Is AURA running?
AURA is currently open to the public on Saturday evenings and will open for additional dates over the school holidays. Regular updates will be provided through Sovereign Hill's website and social media channels.

What are your opening hours?
Sovereign Hill is open to the general public Tuesday to Sunday from 10am to 5pm. We encourage pre-booking online.
Is Sovereign Hill safe to visit?
Our priority is to ensure our staff, friends, families and visitors are safe and secure. Sovereign Hill is an outdoor living museum, so we have lots of space to ensure we are practising the very best hygiene through physical distancing and sanitisation. Our COVID Safe Plan has been developed by in line with all Federal and State Government regulations, and has been designed to protect all staff and visitors from the potential exposure to COVID-19. Do you offer cancellations?
Admission ticket purchases are non-refundable. In the event that you cannot attend on the booked date and advise us at least 48 hours prior to your scheduled arrival, a change of date may be offered subject to the discretion of Sovereign Hill. No more than one date change will be processed per booking. Date changes must be within six months of the initial booking. No-shows (failure to attend on the day without prior contact) will result in forfeiture of the booking. Tickets cannot be exchanged for credit or cash, transferred into another name or sold to another party. Requests for cancellation should be made in writing via [email protected] If the museum is unable to open due to conditions restricting our ability to operate, then a full refund will be processed.
What if I have been asked to isolate or tested positive for COVID-19?
We will happily reschedule your visit to a future date of your choosing provided you provide written notice prior to your scheduled visit date. Please contact [email protected]
Do I need a COVID-19 test pre-arrival?
COVID-19 pre-testing is not a requirement of entry to Sovereign Hill. Sovereign Hill is operating in line with all government guidelines relating to COVID-19. These guidelines can be viewed here.
Is parking available on site?
Yes! And it’s free! Head to our main visitor carpark on Bradshaw Street. Limited disabled parking is available.
